Amanda Macon
Dr. Macon currently serves as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Jay M. Robinson High School in Concord. She has served in a variety of roles in the North Carolina Public School System. She was the Director in the Office of Teacher Education Advising, Licensure, and Recruitment at UNC Charlotte and the Assistant Director of the NC New Teacher Support Program. Prior to these positions, she worked to recruit new teachers into the profession for the UNC system and as a middle school teacher. Her research interests include student motivation, staff engagement, and research-based practices in professional development. Outside of school, she is a mother of three (Charlie, Corin and Kaitlyn) and wife to an English teacher (Ken) at West Stanly High School.
