EdNC. Essential education news. Important stories. Your voice.

Thursday, January 22, 2015

Yesterday, Education Week released a special report entitled, “Shaping Strong School Leaders.”  As I have talked to people across the state about EdNC’s research on the principal salary structure, I have been reminded how tough it is to be a principal.  Think about needing to be responsive to your district, the parents, the teachers, and the students.  And yet we know that great schools need great principals.  Read this report to learn more about what Education Week calls “an impossible job.”

Next week is school choice week, and EdNC will be presenting perspectives on school choice.  To get us started, here is a new report from the American Enterprise Institute, “Views from Private Schools:  Attitudes About School Choice Programs in Three States.”

These are the sources EdNC checks every day: The New York Times, The 74, Education Week, The NC Tribune, The Insider, The News & Observer, The Charlotte Observer, WUNC, WFAE, Brookings, Education Commission of the States, and DPI’s News. A cross section of diverse sources are checked weekly and monthly. If you have an article you think needs to be included, email [email protected].
