Question of the Week – March 11

Currently, the redistricting of NC congressional & state legislative boundaries is controlled by the state legislature. In 2018, a federal district court ruled that NC’s congressional map had been subject to unconstitutional partisan gerrymandering.

Recently, some states have implemented independent redistricting committees to draw these district lines to avoid partisan gerrymandering, and NC legislators recently proposed a bipartisan bill to do just that.

How should the redrawing of legislative districts be controlled? Weigh in on our question of the week.
