The Professional Educator Preparation and Standards Commission (PEPSC) met Thursday. They heard a presentation on microcredentials and made a recommendation to amend licensure testing requirements. You can see the agenda and meeting documents here.
Board Chair Van Dempsey also discussed a letter he received from Governor Roy Cooper “to highlight the positive impact that the Pathways proposal could have on teacher diversity and to identify opportunities to align the professional pathways structures more closely with DRIVE Task Force Recommendations.” The “Pathways proposal” is the licensure and teacher pay reform proposal being worked on by the State Board of Education and PEPSC. The letter will be discussed more extensively at PEPSC’s April meeting. Read that letter here.
