As part of National School Choice Week, earlier this week the John Locke Foundation hosted Mike Long, president of Parents for Educational Freedom in North Carolina (PEFNC) for a talk about the school choice landscape in North Carolina and his group’s goals in supporting options for parents. PEFNC has been a staunch supporter and advocate for school choice for years, and Long took over for founding president Darrell Allison after he left the group to become national director of State Teams and Political Strategy for the American Federation for Children, a national group that promotes school choice.
