Reach Roundup: Do you think it is necessary to continue your education after high school?

LAST WEEK’S RESULTS

How many state parks are there in North Carolina?

QUOTES FROM LAST WEEK

Being a new teacher in the state of North Carolina, I am looking forward to visiting some of our state parks this summer.
-Teacher from Jones County

State Parks and historic sites are terribly underfunded. If you visit any that are any good distance from the urban centers, they have been neglected. It’s time we stood up for these gems!
-Respondent from Raleigh

THE QUESTION OF THE WEEK

CAROLINE’S NOTES

Hello, Caroline Parker here!

I’m the Director of Reach NC Voices, and I’m taking over “Nation’s notes” today, giving him some much needed rest after a busy week traveling across the state. If we turned this month into a movie, I imagine Johnny Cash’s “I’ve Been Everywhere” would be the first song on our soundtrack. Just in the last seven days, members of our team have visited Tarboro to host a dinner around chronic absenteeism, Asheboro for a convening of faith leaders, Elizabeth City for the myFutureNC listening session, Morganton to visit Western Piedmont Community College, Charlotte to discuss post-secondary access, and the list goes on.

Our goal as an initiative of EducationNC is to listen to the stories of North Carolinians and help connect the dots for policymakers. We want to go everywhere, man. If you’ve got a story to tell, we want to hear it. Respond to this email, text NATION to 73224, or tweet us @ReachNCVoices to share. We hope to see you along our journey!

All the best,
Caroline

We want to hear from you.
