Representative Graig Meyer named board chair of STEMx

The following is a press release from Rep. Graig Meyer

RALEIGH, NC – January 11, 2018 – STEMx, a national network of STEM proponents, recently announced that North Carolina State Representative Graig Meyer (D-Orange), has been appointed as the chair their prestigious STEMx Fellows.

A member of the 2015 inaugural cohort of Fellows, Meyer will continue as a Fellow to take the helm as the chair of the new 2017-2019 cohort. STEMx began the Fellowship with the premise that, just as education reflects local and state character, STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education also takes on some of its own traits at the local level. Among the activities hosted or facilitated by STEMx is an annual convening known as STEMxchange. The event, to be held May 8-9 in Nashville, TN, is a forum for state leadership teams and Fellows from partner states.

“It’s an honor for me to serve as chair after being a member of the inaugural Fellows cohort,” said Rep. Graig Meyer. “The conversations and work facilitated by STEMx and the Fellows are more critical than ever. As Fellows, educators and leaders from around the country can build upon the great work they are doing in their states and become better advocates for STEM education.”
