CoThinkk: Changing philanthropy, changing communities, changing lives

At EdNC, we believe news+research+reach+innovation=change. Our work allows us to search our state for best practices, interesting leaders, and the most innovative strategies to spark change. I stumbled across this story sitting next to this everyday hero on a sofa at the Kimpton Hotel in Winston-Salem. We were talking about big bets, small bets, being brave, and risking failure. And in that moment, Tracey decided to tell me a story about her own bets and bravery to create change in the community she grew up in.

Mebane Rash is the CEO and editor-in-chief of EducationNC and the N.C. Center for Public Policy Research. Mebane attended Irwin Elementary, First Ward Elementary, McClintock Middle, and East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte.
