Who should decide when school starts?

A handful of school districts are bucking the state law that says North Carolina schools can’t start earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and can’t end later than the Friday closest to June 11.  We want to know whether your district is in that list and what you think about it, as well as your thoughts on the state law that dictates when the school year can start and end.

Please take this survey to let us know. It shouldn’t take longer than 5-10 minutes. We are planning on using the results and comments on a possible article about calendar flexibility in North Carolina. Please leave your contact information if you are willing for us to contact you for follow-ups.
