Former NC Governor Bev Perdue talks technology in the classroom

Alex Granados/EducationNC
  • Perdue has been working on integrating technology in North Carolina classrooms since she was Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina.
  • An early effort in EdTech was creating a virtual high school in NC in the early- to mid-2000s. The effort failed, Perdue said, because poor students didn’t have connectivity.
  • Since then, Perdue and others have worked hard to make the state a leader in EdTech. Perdue said it’s a bipartisan effort, and singles out Rep. Craig Horn, R-Union, in particular for his efforts on the issue.

In this episode of EdTalk, host Alex Granados talks with former North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue about her efforts to integrate technology into North Carolina classrooms.
