EdNC. Essential education news. Important stories. Your voice.

What would a statewide attainment goal look like? Join the conversation

The myFutureNC Commission continues to hold listening sessions around the state. The sessions are designed to include citizen voice in the process as the Commission works towards a report that will contain a multi-year plan for education in North Carolina and a statewide attainment goal.

During the most recent session in Kannapolis, attendees from across the region joined together to discuss their own perspective on our education system. Watch the video below to hear their stories and voices:

The next listening session will be held on Thursday, July 12th from 2 pm until 5:00 p.m. at Cherokee Central School, located at 86 Elk Crossing Lane, Cherokee, NC 28719.

Please join us to share your thoughts and ideas about strengthening educational and economic opportunities for your community, and make sure to RSVP in the poll at the bottom of this page.

After the session, Reach NC Voices will be hosting an informal gathering at Grounded Coffee Shop & Food Factory located at 1185 Tsalagi Rd, Cherokee, NC 28719.  EdNC’s Mebane Rash and Nation Hahn will be there from 5 pm to 7 pm and invite community members to come enjoy a cup of coffee and share your thoughts about what attainment in North Carolina means to you.  Food and drinks will be provided.

We hope to see you there! If you have any questions about this event, please send them to ybendaas@ednc.org.
