About the author

Allison Stewart is currently pursuing a graduate degree in Education Policy at Vanderbilt University after spending five years teaching in North Carolina public elementary and middle schools. As a teacher, Allison was a Kenan Fellow with the North Carolina Science Festival, an Education Policy Fellowship Program fellow, and was the Wake County Beginning Teacher Leadership Network Coordinator for the Public School Forum. Her education policy interests center around equity and school leadership. She is a proud product of North Carolina public schools, from Cabarrus County Schools to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
