Stories from the Education Pipeline: First-generation college student Courtney Wolfe

Courtney Wolfe, a first-year student at Appalachian State University, always wanted to go to college, despite her parents’ lack of postsecondary attainment.

“I just want to get my education and go with it, and see where it takes me and stuff, especially since my parents don’t have degrees,” Wolfe said. “It’s probably the number one thing I want in my life right now.”

Watch below to hear about Wolfe’s journey from high school to college, her decision to major in special education, and what this educational opportunity means to her. This is the second video of a series of stories on individuals across North Carolina with nontraditional educational pathways.
